Pitch your movie idea to Scriptshadow’s #1 Hype Man, Scripty!
Scripty’s been bothering me all week after this Ember Knight sale about wanting to move up in the company and get some more responsibility. “When do I get my pitch month?” He keeps asking.
So, I’m giving him a trial weekend of pitches. I can tell you this. Scripty is nothing like me. He likes weird stuff. He thinks high concept is dumb. So, I wouldn’t pitch any Die Hard in a building ideas to him.
“Tell them I like Charlie Coffington,” he just blurted out at me. I had to tell him that he means “Charlie Kaufman.” He then responded, “Who dat?” and made a ‘call me’ gesture then burst out laughing.
Now he’s eating leftover lasagna that’s been in my fridge since spring.
Listen, I’m going to be honest with you. I don’t think Scripty is ready for this type of responsibility but I’m going to give him a shot. So, if you have any weird movie ideas — wait, he just said, “TV be okay too.” So, if you have any offbeat movie or TV ideas, pitch’em.
I can’t promise anything. There’s a better than 50% chance that Scripty falls asleep in 10 minutes and doesn’t wake up until Sunday afternoon. So, I wish all of you luck.
